Inclusion Policy

At Immaculate Heart of Mary Lubov Nursery School we welcome and accept children of all abilities. Our program supports the full inclusion of children who require additional support because of physical, cognitive, social, or emotional needs.

The classroom is carefully and thoughtfully arranged so that all children can move freely and make choices based on their abilities. Children are able to participate in social free play and take part in our routines throughout the day.  We encourage the socialization of every child with peers and provide developmentally appropriate group experiences for all children.  The daily schedule is flexible, inclusive of children with additional support needs, and takes into consideration the individual developmental needs of the children.

We support and encourage the family to be a part of the decision making process for their child. We collaborate together with parents and early intervention professionals to set goals and plan appropriate support needs.

Our staff participates in professional development in current areas of child development. We are committed to learning more about various disabilities and working together as a team to provide the best care for the needs of each child.

Behavior management strategies will be adapted to meet the developmental needs of each child and will take into consideration the child’s inclusion support needs.
